Meet Dr.Miller
Dr. Sharrica Miller is a board-certified nurse practitioner with over 17 years of healthcare and teaching experience. Highly regarded for her engaging and dynamic presentation style, Dr. Miller is a nationally sought-after keynote speaker and consultant that works with child welfare organizations and academic institutions to meet their diversity, equity, and inclusion needs.
After spending 12 years of her childhood in foster care, Dr. Miller went on to obtain her BSN from Howard University and worked bedside in multiple areas including pediatrics, med-surg, palliative care, and critical care for five years before going back to school to become a nurse practitioner. She earned her PhD from UCLA in 2017 and was named as one of five Johnson and Johnson’s Minority Nurse Faculty Scholars two years in a row.
Dr. Miller is currently tenure track faculty at California State University, Fullerton, where she serves as Chair of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Student Engagement in the School of Nursing. In that capacity, she develops and sustain DEI initiatives to increase recruitment and retention of historically excluded student populations. Her work at the university earned her the 2019 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion award.
